1FAULT

The symptom that looks like a transmission is usually a sensor.

Dealer-level scan tools · electrical · driveability · intermittents

01 / THE METHOD

Test, don’t guess

Parts-cannon diagnosis is expensive and it is why people stop trusting shops. A code is a starting point, not an answer. We test the circuit, confirm the fault, and only then quote the repair.

Step one

Reproduce it

If we cannot make it happen, we cannot prove we fixed it. Intermittents get driven and data-logged.

Step two

Test the circuit

Scope, meter, and live data. The code tells us where to look, not what to replace.

Step three

Quote the real repair

You get told what it is, what it costs, and what happens if it waits.

02 / SECOND OPINIONS

Already been quoted something enormous?

Bring it. A transmission quote that turns out to be a throttle position sensor is a good day for everyone except the shop that guessed.

Dealer-level tools, independent shop

The scan capability of a dealer without the dealer counter. Bidirectional control, module programming, live data on the road.

The more detail the better — when it happens, how it feels, what it sounds like.
